Nasser bin Hamad honours handball players

Manama, June 24 (BNA): His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of Bahrain Olympic Committee honoured the best seven players in the handball tournament, which concluded on Tuesday as part of the first Nasser bin Hamad Ramadan Sports Games and eight Ramadan Football Championship (Nasser 8).
Al Wasat Newspaper player Hussain Fakhr won the best assistant in the tournament, while three players from Al Nibras were honoured including Hassan Mansoor, Hussain Makki and Tameem Al Molani. Al Diyar team players Mohammed Abdulhadi and Mahmoud Al Wanna were among the awardees and Bahrain National Youth Team Goalie Jaffar Abbas won the best goalkeeper award.
BFA LAUDS NASSER 8
Bahrain Football Association (BFA) Administrative and Financial Affairs Deputy President Ahmed Abdulla Al Nuaimi said Nasser bin Hamad Ramadan Championship has become a key sports event in Bahrain throughout the past seven years.
He said the since the launch of Nasser bin Hamad Ramadan Football Championship, it has been able to attract professional local players, amateurs and retired national football stars.
Al Nuaimi added that this year’s version of the championship has been successful so far as it includes new games such as volleyball, basketball and handball, which concluded on Tuesday.
Al Nuaimi underlined that the main reason behind the success of the championship is the care and support of HH Shaikh Nasser, as well as the media partners, sponsors and the organising committees.
