Nasser Al-Attiyah to Participate in Dakar International Rally

Doha, December 08 (QNA) - Qatar's Nasser Al Attiyah will take part in the 33rd edition of Dakar Rally, which will be launched during the period from January 1 to 15 and connects the cities of Mar del Plata, Argentina and the Peruvian capital of Lima. Al-Attiyah will seek to retain his title of champion of that rally last year. Al-Attiyah, will drive a "Hummer H-3" of Robbie Gordon Group and will try to win the title for the second year in a row, an accomplishment only achieved by Finnish Larry Vattanian with two different teams in 1990 and 1991. Al-Attiyah's car will carry the number 300, a number that is always allocated to the title's winner. The Dakar Rally 2012 between the Atlantic and Pacific oceans will start on the first of next month from the Argentine coastal city of Mar del Plata and ends in Peru's capital city of Lima. The 14-day rally includes 5 Stages in Argentina, 5 in Chile and 4 in Peru. (QNA)
