Malaysia will host 19th AIPS-Asia Congress

Kuala Lumpur, Feb. 17 (BNA): During at 18th AIPS-Asia Congress in the Kingdom of Bahrain's capital, Manama, AIPS-Asia general assembly and executive committee approved Malaysia’s request and granted Malaysian capital Kuala Lumpur the right to host the 19th AIPS-Asia Congress, which will be held in 2017. Chairman of AIPS-Malaysia and incumbent AIPS-Asia VP Ahmed Khawari submitted the hosting file, which contained a very well structured, comprehensive and integrated proposal to the executive committee, which in turn gave its nod. AIPS-Asia President, Mohammed Qasim, handed AIPS-Asia flag to Khawari, and expressed his absolute confidence in Kuala Lumpur’s capabilities to organize the prestigious event and ensure its success. Qasim maintained, "Although, this is the first time for Malaysia to host this prestigious Asian sports press event, it has previously hosted an AIPS Congress and is familiar with such functions, considering the long experience Kuala Lumpur has with hosting sporting events. In fact, Malaysia is a well-known international venue for such events". He further added, "Having reviewed Malaysia’s file, we found that it is able to meet all AIPS-Asia requirements to host the 19th AIPS-Asia Congress. The executive committee and general assembly, therefore, have unanimously decided to approve of the proposal and grant Kuala Lumpur the honor of organizing the event". Qasim explained, "Malaysia’s file reflected serious desire and sufficient capabilities to host the most prominent AIPS-Asia event, which brings together the most prominent officials in sports journalism in the largest continent". AIPS-Asia President, Qasim, also added, "We are confident of Malaysia's ability to host the event, hoping also that this gesture will open a gateway to the other Asian member states to follow suit in the next phase, which requires a lot of hard work to bring about change in continental sports press". He also stressed that everyone is full of anticipation to see positive change translated into action. In the same context, AIPS-Asia VP and AIPS-Malaysia President, Ahmed Khawari, indicated that he was proud to get the confidence of AIPS-Asia general assembly and executive committee in his country to organize such colossal event, particularly in light of the big ambitions to effect change in sports press in Asia. Khawari said, "We submitted our proposal and file for approval by the general assembly. Our file includes many important aspects in line with AIPS-Asia hosting criteria and conditions. The approval of the general assembly gives us an impetus to start preparing for AIPS-Asia Congress from this moment in order to win everyone's satisfaction."
