Level 1 Course concludes

Manama, Nov. 7 (BNA): A level 1 course of the National Coaching Programme came to a close with 30 coaches from Bahrain and broad of different sports in attendance. The course was organized by the Sports Training and Development Centre, which is under the Bahrain Olympic Committee, and in cooperation with the Coaching Association of Canada. It’s part of the Sports Training and Development Centre annual plan aimed to qualify and develop national sports officials at different sports clubs and associations. Sports Training and Development Centre director Nabeel Taha said he was pleased with the outcome of the course and for the number of national tacticians who were graduated from this programme, which consists of four different levels. Taha noted that around 800 coaches, most of whom are from Bahrain, were graduated from the programme over the past years. They are now leading their respective clubs and national teams and preparing them to compete in regional and international competitions. Taha added that level 1 of the programme focuses on obtaining essential sports training coaching skills. This level features a number of subjects such as planning in training, developing strength using resistance exercises and taking ethical editions. He stressed that the centre will continue to conduct such programmes, thanks for the support of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, led by Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, and the efforts of its general secretary Abdulrahman Askar.
