Leadership congratulated on top MMA championship

, Sept. 12 (BNA): First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sport (SCYS) Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa has extended sincere congratulations to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier, on the winning of the KHK MMA's professional fighter Eldar Eldarov of the Gladiator Fighting Championship, held yesterday in Kuwait. He praised Eldarov's landmark achievement during the first international participation of the Khalid bin Hamad Mixed Martial Arts (KHK MMA) team, which was inaugurated last August. The MMA title adds to the milestone achievements of the Bahrain sports in international championships, he said, adding that the successes are the fruitful outcome of the leadership's constant interest in supporting the youth and sport movement. Shaikh Khalid also credited the SCYS Chairman and Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) President Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa for the success of sport sector in Bahrain, noting that his plans and strategies to develop the Bahraini sport have contributed to the kingdom's accomplishments at various sports gatherings. He also praised the outstanding performance of fighter Eldarov and the efforts of the technical and administrative staff of the KHK MMA team. The Gladiator Fighting Championship, organised by GFC Company in collaboration with Wawan Protein Establishment, kicked off officially last night at Al Safir Hotel in Kuwait. During the 77-kg duel, KHK MMA team member Eldar Eldarov, beat US fighter Tanner Sacacen, also known as the ‘hammer’, in the second round. Following the victory, Eldarov congratulated the kingdom's leadership and people on the title of the Gladiator Fighting Championship, the biggest International Mixed Martial Arts Federation (IMMAF) event in the world.
