Holders Lekhwiya Back on Top in Qatar Stars League

Doha, January 20 (QNA) - Reigning champions Lekhwiya returned to the top of the 2011-12 Qatar Stars League after defeating Al Ahli, 1-0, in their Round 13 clash at the Thani Bin Jassim Stadium on Thursday night. Korea Republic international Nam Tae-hee scored the only goal of the game in the 62nd minute, ten minutes after the 2012 ACL Group 'B' side were reduced to ten men with the sending off of former Portsmouth striker Aruna Dindane. Despite playing the majority of the second half with a man less, Lekhwiya held on for the victory that took their points tally to 25, two more than 2011 AFC Champions League winners Al Sadd, who will return to the top of the QSL standings if they beat bottom-of the-table Umm Salal on Saturday. Lekhwiya make their debut in Asia's premier club competition when they host Saudi Arabia's Al Ahli on March 7. (QNA)
