BOC honours its staff

Manama, May 6 (BNA): The Bahrain Olympic Committee honoured its staff on Tuesday at the annual awards ceremony. The ceremony was in appreciation to the efforts and contributions of the committee staff in 2014, and in an attempt to strengthen ties among members of the BOC family. In his opening remarks, BOC secretary-general Abdulrahman Askar welcomed the attendees and thanked the employees for their hard working efforts in implementing the committee plans and programmes last year. "This ceremony is the least thing we can have to thank all those who worked hard and spared no efforts to ensure the success of all events organized by the committee over the past year. We really appreciate their services in order to boost sports section in the Kingdom of Bahrain," said Askar. "You are the core of this institution, without you it would have been impossible for us to achieve our objectives and for Bahrain to win over 300 medals in 2014 as well as 150 medals so far in 2015," added Askar. He also conveyed the greetings of His Majesty the King’s Personal Representative for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Supreme Council for Youth and Sports chairman and BOC President, HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa. Also present at the function were BOC board members Shaikh Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Dr Khalid Al Alawi and Adel Al Assomi, committee directors and invited guests who also received special awards on this occasion.
