Bahrain Endurance 13 victories continue

Manama, June 3 (BNA): Supported by Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports and President of Bahrain Olympic Committee, the victories of Bahrain Endurance 13 "Elite" Team continue in various international endurance and triathlon competitions, with team members Brent McMahon and Joe Gambles winning Brazil and Spain championships this week.
Gambles found gold on Spain’s inaugural Challenge Salou title, winning in 3 hours and 39 minutes on the half distance course. After exiting in the lead pack on the swim, Gambles took the lead on the bike. With the fastest bike split and a strong run, he held off all other contenders in his first race since recovering from injury. "It's been a tough month after an unplanned break. I’m so happy to win today," he said.
At the same time, Brent McMahon won the Ironman Challenge in Florianopolis, Brazil. McMahon stayed in the lead group all day, taking a turn at the front 100 kilometers into the bike and starting the marathon in second. He crossed the finish line with an empty tank with less than a minute separating him and a runner-up finish. The race was contested with the top four men all finishing under eight hours.
