Astana Hosts Tournament Entitled "Youth Capital"
Astana, June 9, 2008, Khabar - An international youth tennis tournament entitled "Youth Capital" has begun in Astana. The competition is one of the ITF contests and devoted to Astana's 10th birthday.
The competition brought together young participants aged between 14 and 18 and coming from all over the Globe with the
event being held on the courts of the "National Tennis Centre" in Astana.
In general, all ITF tournaments are said to be the world's most prestigious ones with such contests giving birth to future tennis stars. The Kazakhstan tennis federation and the Astana city administration hope that some world-class players will appear
soon thanks to such tournaments.
Yerlan Kozhagapanov, deputy mayor of Astana "New tennis is now appearing in Kazakhstan. This tennis will help young talents and
will also attract famous coaches. Tennis helps build new training grounds and develops sport as a whole". (Khabar Agency)
