All star match ends in draw

Manama, May.7 (BNA): The first match in Group D of the ongoing first Nasser bin Hamad Ramadan Sports Games and the eighth edition of Nasser bin Hamad Ramadan Football Championship (Nasser 8), held between Gunners United and Al Nawayef teams at Khalifa Sports City in Isa Town yesterday ended with a 1-1 draw. The all star match included popular regional football players in both teams such as Hussain Ali (Pele) and Isa Musbah in Al Nawayef and national football stars Talal Yousif, Mahmood Abdulrahman (Ringo) and Saudi Professional Mohammed Al Shamrani, who played for Gunners United. Al Shamrani scored first for the gunners at the 22nd minute, while Anwar Abdulla scored for Al Nawayef in the last minute of the first half. The second half saw no goals even when the referee signaled a penalty kick for Gunners United but Ringo missed the shot, leaving both teams with one point. The match was refereed by Nawaf Shukrallah, Sayed Jalal Mahfoodh, Mubarak Al Kuwari and fourth referee Mohammed Khalid. .
