Al Sadd Goalkeeper Breaks into Top 15 International Goalkeeper Ratings

Doha, January 05 (QNA) - Al Sadd's Mohammed Saqr has broken into the world's top 15 in international goalkeeper ratings. According to the International Federation of Football History & Statistics (IFFHS) ratings, Saqr now occupies the 14th spot. The top spot is secured by Spain's World Cup captain Iker Casillas who plays for Real Madrid. Bayern Munich's Manuel Neuer is number two while Victor Valdes of Barcelona is number three. Saqr, who is 31 years old, is the first Arab to break into the top 15. Saqr is a Qatari footballer who currently plays as a goalkeeper for 12-time time Qatar Stars League (QSL) champions Al Sadd. In 2011, Saqr was a vital part of the Al Sadd squad that was crowned Champions of Asia after winning the 2011 AFC Champions League. Saqr is also a member of the Qatar national team. Saqr also played a vital role when Al Sadd finished in third spot in the 2011 FIFA Club World Cup. (QNA)
