Al Henzab: Qatar Hub of Sport Security and Integrity
Doha, March 17 (QNA) - President of the International Centre for Sport Security (ICSS) Mohammed Henzab said Qatar has become a hub of sport security, safety and integrity thanks to the Qatari youth efforts and the legacy achieved after the hosting many international sport championships over the part period, praising the role played by the interior ministry in supporting the ICSS and the tremendous development achieved in hosting sporting events by giving new and different concepts for sport security.
In an interview with Qatar News Agency (QNA), Henzab said there is no country in the world except Qatar that has launched initiatives with sport dimensions both with regard to sport corruption, protection of youngsters, drafting an international charter to fight manipulation in matches results or setting an integrity indicator to assess the sport situation in each country and its impact on economic prosperity and further development.
He explained that what Qatar has reached came as the result of the legacy that has been acquired by young Qataris from hosting many events and tournaments in the recent period, noting that it resulted in ideas and proposals foremost of which was the initiative of HH the Heir Apparent Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani for the establishment International Centre for Sport Security, and directives that Qatar should be the first reference for sport security, describing it as unprecedented idea since there is no international organization concerned with this issue.
Henzab described the International Centre for Sport Security, which attracts over 400 international personalities annually, as an addition to Qatar's efforts in the service of world sport, especially as Qatar surpassed the stage of hosting championships, and now published information and offer experiences and expertise, whether in organization or security for all countries in the world through the International Center for Sport Security.(QNA)
He praised the role of the Ministry of Interior and HE the Minister of State for Internal Affairs Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani's support for the centre and the provision of all resources and information that help it carry out its mission. (QNA)
