SCH Urges Public to Take Seasonal Influenza Vaccine

Doha, December 03 (QNA) - The Supreme Council of Health (SCH) has announced the availability of the seasonal influenza vaccine for immunizing people who are at risk for severe influenza or its complications. The SCH also urged the public to take advantage of this opportunity to immunize themselves and their children against the seasonal influenza to ensure protection from the flu during this winter. "The vaccine is currently available at some of the Primary Health Care Centers, as outlined below, every day from Sunday to Thursday," a statement released by SCH said. The vaccine is generally safe and the adverse events are limited and include soreness and swelling at the site of the injection, it added, saying about 5%-10% of people vaccinated may develop low grade fever.
