Charity marathon to launch center for children and people with disabilities starts in Bishkek

Bishkek, Oct. 15, 2021 . / Kabar / . A charity marathon Omur Bulagy (Lifespring) to raise money to start a self-titled rehabilitation center for children and people with disabilities has started on Friday in the National Philharmonic named after Salganov in Bishkek. Thus, according to the project, the complex will be located on the northern shore of Issyk-Kul lake and will consist of eight blocks, namely the departments of allergology, oncology, pulmonology, obstetrics and gynecology, pediatric surgery, functional diagnosis and neurology. Health Minister of Kyrgyzstan Alymkadyr Beishenaliev said the construction of the complex was not completed in time due to a lack of funds. "According to our calculations, about KGS 1.5 billion are required. At the present time, when the country is experiencing great difficulties due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it is difficult to allocate such a large sum from the national budget. That's why we appeal to citizens who care about the future of children,” he added. After the construction, the center will be able to accommodate 250 children at a time and will operate year-round. In turn, the favorable climate of Issyk-Kul will contribute to the development of medical tourism in Kyrgyzstan. At present, the Innovative Cardiosurgery Center where surgeries are performed on children with cardiac pathologies, is already functioning on the site of the center.
