19 COVID-19 diagnostic laboratories operate in Kyrgyzstan

Bishkek, Sept. 5, 2021 . / Kabar / . As of today, 19 laboratories for diagnosis of COVID-19 coronavirus infection operate throughout Kyrgyzstan, of which 13 are public and 6 private, head of the Center for Laboratory Testing of the Department of Disease Prevention and State Sanitary and Epidemiological Surveillance Aigul Dzhumakanova told during a briefing.
She added that laboratory diagnosis is done by PCR method. In addition, express method is used for screening, and in emergency cases - the Genexpert method.
A total of 1,824,071 studies have been carried out since the start of the pandemic.
"Since the beginning of the pandemic, we have received PCR-test systems from different sources, different manufacturers (WHO, RF, PRC, Turkey, Korea, Germany) for a total of 701 790 studies, of which 534 556 studies are free, 167 234 were purchased. Incoming PCR test kits are tested at the National Virological Laboratory of Department of Disease Prevention and State Sanitary and Epidemiological Surveillance, after which they are distributed to laboratories," the specialist said.
