VICE MINISTER TS.TUVAAN MEETS DUTCH DEPUTY MINISTER

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The Vice Minister of Industry and Agriculture Ts.Tuvaan has exchanged views with authorities of Netherlands' Ministry of Foreign Trade on developing a bilateral cooperation in the industrial and agricultural sectors. The meeting was held Tuesday with Mr Simon Smits, the Vice Minister for Foreign Trade in charge of agricultural affairs in frames of Mr Tuvaan's visit to the Kingdom of Netherlands running these days. Mr Tuvaan said the cabinet for reforms intends to back proposals and initiatives of the private sector regarding an establishment of greenhouses and milk cow farms with capitals from the bonds, issued by the government, so as to provide the population with healthy and safe foods and with own vegetables and dairy products. He expressed a willingness to create a mechanism of direct cooperation between the Ministries in order to study Dutch experience of the agricultural development and to realize the biggest goals of the agricultural sector. He emphasized an importance of establishing official cooperation in greenhouse farming, introducing techniques and technologies in Mongolia, and learning know-how and experience of the Netherlands in developing intensified farming, and passed to Mr Smits proposals on joint projects. Receiving the proposals, Mr Smits appreciated Mongolian government's policy on making the agricultural sector an economic priority. He said their side is ready to share its experience with Mongolia in greenhouse and intensified farming. The sides agreed to establish a memorandum between the Ministries with an aim to develop the mutually beneficial cooperation in the agricultural and industrial spheres. B.Khuder
