Vice minister of Defense at NATO/ISAF meetings

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ A.Battor, the Vice Minister of Defense took part in meetings of the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) and the North Atlantic Council (NAC) at the level of Defense Ministers held June 4-5 in the NATO Headquarters in Brussels, Belgium. At the end of the meeting, a policy document called "Decisive support for Afghanistan" was released by consensus. After this, the Mongolian Vice Minister held meetings with Mr Dirk Brengelmann, NATO's Assistant Secretary General for Political Affairs and Security Policy; Mr Chuck Hagel, the US Secretary of Defense; Mr Peter R. Lavoy, the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Asian and Pacific Security Affairs (APSA); and Martin Erdmann, Germany's Permanent Representative to the NATO. At every meeting the sides exchanged views on the Mongolia-NATO relations and cooperation and on Mongolian participation in the ISAF and "Decisive Support" operations. Chaired by Mr Anders F. Rasmussen, the NATO Secretary-General, the meetings brought together Defense Ministers and Vice Ministers of 28 NATO members and 22 partner countries.
