UN official hails Iran’s remarkable assistance to foreign refugees

Gotvand, Khuzestan prov, Dec 13, IRNA – The Representative of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) Sivanka Dana hailed Iran’s remarkable assistance to the refugees living in Iran. Making the remark while visiting a refugee camp in this southwestern province on Tuesday, he referred to the numerous needs of the refugees living in Iran and said Iran and the UN body have succeeded in offering enormous help to foreign refugees. He went on to stress the need for providing more financial resources to tackle the refugees’ problems according to priorities. He said his organization has made every effort to solve the refugees’ problems in cooperation with the Iranian government. The official further said that the United Nations has manifested good determination to lower expenses. 1378/IRNA
