TWO PREMIERS ISSUE JOINT DECLARATION

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ "Our negotiations have run in atmosphere of mutual understanding, trust and friendliness and have been fruitful,” said the Mongolian PM Altankhuyag about his talks with the Japanese PM Shinzo Abe on March 30. He said Mongolia's government is attaching a great political importance to friendly relationship and cooperation with its Third Neighbor Japan. Developing of the Strategic partnership and cooperation with Japan is one of the priorities of Mongolia's foreign policy, accordingly, “our official negotiations focused on activating this partnership in all social spheres, especially on elevating the economic ties into a newer level.” Mr Altankhuyag also said the Mongolian sides is ready to cooperate with Japan in developing the ties on the three concepts--the democracy, peace and the mutual help--suggested by Mr Abe for the strategic partnership promotion. The two sides have agreed to collaborate according to the “Dynasmics"--Mr Abe's initiative on activating the partnership implementation and supporting Mongolia's economic development. With this reason they will work on accelerating a course of creating the Economic partnership agreement that will aim to form favorable business, finance an investment conditions and a real atmosphere for mutually beneficial and complementary cooperation. The Premiers have agreed that an agreement on opening the export credits line should be created as a support to the private sectors' collaboration, as well as a Middle term programme for activating the strategic partnership. The four-year programme has been planned to include high level mutual visits, economic collaboration, for example, projects in coal and infrastructure and other spheres, also directions of the cooperation in the culture, sports, and education and on the international arena. Mr Altankhuyag said Mongolian side will welcome and appreciate the Japanese investments not only to the mining but also to many other sectors. Mr Shinzo Abe said an importance of Mongolia in Japan's foreign policy is increasing, and promised to help and cooperate in realization of middle and long term development goals of Mongolia, for example, a construction of diagnose center, a launching of a construction of a new international airport, erecting of an oil refinery in Darkhan and so on. The Mongolian Premier Altankhuyag said again the Mongolian side firmly intends to deepen and strengthen its ties and cooperation with Japan--our main partner-state, the Third neighbor--who, from the very beginning enormously helped Mongolia to promote the democracy, to form the free market economy system, to lay a foundation of the contemporary development.
