Turkmen Parliament ratifies agreement with Turkey in legal field

Turkmenistan, Ashgabat, Aug.6 /Trend H.Hasanov/ A resolution "On ratification of Agreement between Turkmenistan and the Turkish Republic on legal assistance in civil and criminal matters" was considered and adopted at the 15th meeting of the Majlis (Parliament) of Turkmenistan of IV convocation, an official Turkmen source said on Monday. In recent years the Turkmen-Turkish economic and trade relations received a new impetus for development, as seen from the growing volume of annual trade between the two countries. More than 100 different agreements at the interstate, intergovernmental and interdepartmental levels create the legal basis for partnership. The intergovernmental Turkmen-Turkish commission for economic cooperation has been operating since 2008. It is discussing the issues of further mutually beneficial relations, including in the energy sector, agricultural sector, transit and transport, science, technology and investment sectors. In Turkmenistan, there are over 600 Turkish companies that have implemented and continue to implement a number of projects in such areas as textiles, construction of housing, medical and cultural centers.
