TURKISH PRESIDENT: TURKEY SUPPORTS DEMOCRATIZATION OF PAKISTAN

ANKARA - Turkish President Abdullah Gul said on Tuesday that Turkey extended support to democratization process and fight against terrorism in Pakistan.
Holding a press conference at Ankara's international Esenboga Airport prior to his departure for Pakistan, Gul said that his visit would cover Islamabad and Lahor.
Gul said that Turkey exerted efforts for peace, stability and prosperity of Pakistan, adding that those efforts would continue in the future.
President Gul said that his visit would help strengthening of political relations --which were already in perfect level-- as well as the cooperation between the two countries in economy, commerce and investments.
Gul said that the trade volume between Turkey and Pakistan was 782 million USD in 2009. He added that many Turkish businessmen working in industries of energy, infrastructure, agriculture, construction and information technology would accompany him in Pakistan and they would attend business council meetings in Islamabad and Lahor.
