Turkish president leaves summit in Bishkek

Azerbaijan, Baku, Aug. 23 / Trend A. Taghiyeva /
Turkish President Abdullah Gul will fail to take part in the summit of the Cooperation Council of Turkic Speaking States (CCTS), as he was forced to leave Bishkek today due to poor health, Turkish newspaper Sabah reported today.
The CCTS summit began today in Bishkek with the Bishkek Declaration of Cooperation is expected to be signed following the summit.
CCTS was established in 2009. According to Turkey's initiative, Halil Akinci was appointed as secretary general.
The first summit of the council was held in Almaty last October. Several documents regulating the activity of the organisation were signed.
'It was conventionally determined that the development of cooperation of the Turkic Council member states in the field of education and culture will be the main topic of the second summit in Bishkek', the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry reported earlier.
Delegates worked over the issues of creating single textbooks on the history of the Turkic peoples, a single encyclopaedia of Turkic terms and projects for further development of cooperation between higher education institutions of the CCTS member states.
