Turkish premier receives Lebanese socialist leader

ISTANBUL (A.A) - August 6, 2011 - Turkey's Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan received Walid Jumblatt, the Druze leader of the Progressive Socialist Party, in Istanbul on Saturday.
The meeting was behind closed doors, and lasted about 45 minutes.
Earlier on Saturday, Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu met Jumblatt.
Davutoglu and Jumblatt discussed in their meeting the political situation in Lebanon as well as latest developments in the Middle East, particularly Syria, Libya, "the Arab Spring" and peace process in Palestine, diplomatic sources said. 
Sources said the Turkish side reaffirmed its position on the developments in the region and emphasized the importance Turkey attached to peace and stability in Lebanon.
