Turkey's ruling party condemns Israel's new housing plans in West Bank

ANKARA (A.A) - July 26, 2011 - Turkey's ruling Justice and Development (AK) Party has condemned Israel's plans to build new illegal settlements in the West Bank area.
Omer Celik, AK Party's deputy chairman for foreign affairs, said in a written statement on Tuesday that his party condemned Israel's efforts to construct 336 new houses in a Palestinian territory under invasion.
Celik said members of the international community acknowledged the illegality of the Israeli settlements in the region, adding that such construction plans proved one more time Israel's unwillingness for peace.
The deputy chairman also recalled that Israeli settlements in the West Bank were the main reason of the suspension of peace talks in the region in 2010.
Releasing a written statement on Monday, the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs had also condemned the tenders recently launched by Israel to construct hundreds of new houses in the West Bank area, saying Israel's illegal activities on the lands it had invaded were unacceptable.
