TURKEY-SYRIA TRADE VOLUME UP TO $1 BLN

ISTANBUL (A.A) - 30.07.2010 - Turkish State Minister for foreign trade Zafer Caglayan said on Friday trade volume between Turkey and Syria had exceeded one billion USD in the first five months of 2010.
"The trade volume was 795 million USD just three years ago and in 2009 it was 1.8 billion USD despite the global economic crisis. And in the first five months this year it exceeded 1 billion USD," Caglayan told a Syria Investment Conference in Istanbul held as part of the Turkey-Syria Strategic Partnership Council.  
Caglayan said Turkey aimed at boosting economic and political relations with neighboring and regional countries to their best levels.
