Turkey model for countries of Arab spring, says head of Libya's transitional council

TRIPOLI (A.A) - February 13, 2012 - Leader of Libya's National Transitional Council, or NTC, Mustafa Abdul Jalil has said Turkey constituted a model for Libya and other countries of Arab Spring. "Turkey's democratic structure is an example for Libya and other countries that experienced the Arab Spring. Libya will take Turkey as a model for its own political and democratic structure. And our friendly relations will be much more powerful in the new era," Abdul Jalil told the Anadolu Agency.  Touching on the crisis in Syria, Abdul Jalil said Libya was one of the countries first to react to the Assad regime in Syria, adding that the NTC had ordered Syrian diplomats to leave Libya in three days unless bloodshed stopped in Syria. "Assad must end the killings immediately. We hope that peace reigns in Syria again in the shortest possible time," Abdul Jalil said.
