Turkey’s Davutoğlu to meet with Syrian opposition

Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu is set to meet representatives of the Syrian opposition on Friday afternoon in İstanbul Today`s Zaman reported
Davutoglu will reportedly discuss the decisions taken during last week's Friends of Syria meeting in Tunis, which was attended by foreign ministers from more than 50 countries, with members of the Syrian National Council.
In Tunisia, the Friends of Syria, meeting for the first time as a unified bloc, called on Syrian leader Bashar al-Assad to immediately end the violence and allow humanitarian aid into areas hit by his regime's crackdown.
The friends, led by the US and European and Arab nations, also vowed to step up ties with the Syrian National Council, an opposition umbrella group. They also took a tentative step toward recognition by declaring the council to be "a legitimate representative" of the Syrian people, a possible precursor to calling it "the legitimate representative of Syrians seeking peaceful change."
