The Tripartite Summit Begins At The Level Of Foreign Ministers Of Iraq, Egypt And Jordan In Cairo

Baghdad / NINA /- The tripartite summit began at the level of the foreign ministers of Iraq, Fuad Hussein, Egypt Sameh Shukry and Jordan Ayman Safadi. The meeting comes to complement the discussion of the agreements signed by the leaders of the three countries last August, and to strengthen effective partnership within the framework of the tripartite coordination mechanism between the three countries, in an effort to deepen coordination, cooperation and strategic integration between the three countries on the economic, developmental, political, security, cultural and other levels. During a tripartite summit held in Amman at the end of last August, headed by King Abdullah II, and with the participation of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi and Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi, the leaders stressed the importance of strengthening cooperation and adopting the best ways and mechanisms to translate strategic relations on the ground, especially the economic and vital ones such as electrical connectivity and energy projects and the common economic zone, taking advantage of the national capabilities and striving for the integration of resources between the three countries, especially in light of the global consequences of the new Coronavirus pandemic on health, food and economic security. The leaders directed the concerned ministers to focus on the health and medical sectors, education, energy, and intra-trade, encourage investment and economic cooperation, and benefit from the lessons of the emerging Coronavirus pandemic, in order to deepen cooperation in facing the consequences of the pandemic. The leaders assigned foreign ministers to set the tasks entrusted to the executive secretariat, including the tasks of preparing for tripartite and ministerial summits, following up on their outputs, and submitting the necessary reports for leaders' meetings ./ End
