Thai PM to visit Myanmar on Dec 19

BANGKOK, December 14 (TNA) - Thai Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra is scheduled to pay a two-day official visit to Myanmar from December 19-20, aimed to explore ways for further strengthening bilateral ties and cooperation between the two neighbouring countries. Thai Foreign Minister Surapong Tovichakchaikul Wednesday told reporters of Premier Yingluck's planned trip to Myanmar, saying that he will accompany the prime minister and will hold an informal meeting with his Myanmar counterpart, during which ways for further strengthening Thai-Myanmar relations will be raised. The Thai foreign minister revealed that he also plans to visit Saudi Arabia in the near future to find ways to resume sending Thai nationals to work in the Middle East giant and to discuss energy cooperation between Thailand and the oil-rich Muslim nation.
