Thai PM Convenes Pheu Thai Ministers
BANGKOK, Jan 13 (TNA) - Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra convened ministers of her ruling Pheu Thai Party at Baan Phitsanulok, the Thai prime minister's official residence, in Bangkok Friday morning, expected to discuss government policies, constitutional amendments and a Cabinet reshuffle.
Thai Cabinet members present at the meeting included Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Yongyuth Wichaidit, Deputy Prime Minister Police General Kowit Wattana, Finance Minister Thirachai Phuvanatnaranubala, Education Minister Woravat Auapinyakul, Deputy Education Minister Bunruen Srithares, Transport Minister Air Chief Marshal Sukumpol Suwanatat, Energy MinisterPichai Naripthaphan and Science and Technology Minister Plodprasop Suraswadi .
It is expected that the prime minister discussed rehabilitation and compensation projects, policies of her ruling Pheu Thai Party, constitutional amendments and the possibility of a Cabinet reshuffle which may occur during the Chinese New Year festival later this month or in May 2012 when five-year banned politicians of the now-defunct Thai Rai Thai Party will have their political rights restored.
