Thai PM admitted to hospital for food poisoning
BANGKOK, November 29 (TNA) - Thai Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra was admitted to a private hospital early Tuesday morning, after suffering from food poisoning.
Yingluck was hospitalized at the Praram 9 Hospital since 03.00 a.m. and she was, therefore, absent from her weekly Cabinet meeting.
Premier Yingluck's schedules later in the day have also been cancelled, as advised by doctors, including her presiding over a ceremony to launch a solar-power electricity generating project, the first of its kind in Thailand, at the Maleenont Tower in Bangkok's Khlong Toei area and a meeting with visiting Singapore Foreign Affairs and Law Minister K. Shanmugam at Government House, both in the afternoon.
The prime minister was also earlier scheduled to have her activities related to her upcoming official visit to neighbouring Vietnam recorded by the government-run TV-poll network at the Government House in the evening.
The Pheu Thai premier assigned Deputy Prime Minister Yongyuth Wichaidit, who is also Interior Minister, to, instead, chair the Cabinet weekly meeting and performed all other duties on her behalf. (TNA)
