Thai Cabinet nods for Bt47b support for flooded plants

BANGKOK, December 12 (TNA) - Thai Industry Minister Wannarat Channukul says that the Cabinet has initially approved a state budget of 47 billion baht for the rehabilitation of flooded factories, both inside and outside industrial sites in flood-hit Thai provinces. Wannarat told reporters that the Cabinet made the decision at its special meeting held at Bangkok's Government House Monday. According to the industry minister, the Thai Cabinet also resolved to set priority on plans to assist the flooded industrial plants. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Interior's Department Disaster Prevention and Mitigation said in its latest report that Thailand's flood-related fatalities have reached 693 since July 25, 2011, including new cases from flooding in the Thai South more recently.
