Thai businessmen propose three-point demand to govt
BANGKOK, December 11 (TNA) - Senior Thai businessman on Sunday proposed a three-point demand, including an end to corruption practices, to the government to consider.
The proposals were submitted to Deputy Prime Minister and Commerce Minister Kittirat Na-Ranong following the end of a two-day meeting of members of chambers of commerce nationwide held in the resort province of Rayong.
Other demands were improving basic infrastructures following the flood crisis and narrowing social disparity in economy.
Kittirat said in his closing speech that the government is prepared to implement the proposal for further developing the country, especially on water management of which both short and long-term plans have been mapped out.
He also said the government will definitely raise daily minimum wage to 300 baht from April 1 next year, the value-added tax will be collected at the unchanged level of seven per cent and an income distribution will be spread to upcountry in order to enable farmers to earn higher income. (TNA)
