Tashkent hosts meeting of Kyrgyz, Uzbek top diplomats

Bishkek, Nov. 5.11.20. /Kabar/. The Uzbek capital city of Tashkent hosted a meeting of Foreign Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Ruslan Kazakbayev and Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov, the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry’s press service reported on Thursday.
At the beginning of the conversation, Kazakbayev on behalf of Acting President and Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov thanked the Uzbek side for the congratulations on his appointment, stressing that Uzbekistan’s prime minister was one of the first to congratulate the new prime minister of the republic.
The Kyrgyz minister also informed about current domestic political situation in Kyrgyzstan. He assured that the Kyrgyz side remains fully committed to all its international obligations and strict implementation of all previously signed bilateral and multilateral international treaties.
The sides noted with satisfaction the high level of Kyrgyz-Uzbek strategic partnership, discussed further prospects of fruitful cooperation between the two countries in trade and economic, investment, water and energy, transport, cultural and humanitarian spheres, as well as issues of joint fight against COVID-19 pandemic.
During the fruitful negotiations, the two foreign ministers debated key issues in the development of Kyrgyz-Uzbek relations, the prospects for further expansion and deepening of bilateral cooperation in political, trade and economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres, as well as exchanged views on international and regional interaction.
Special attention was paid to completing the process of delimitation and demarcation of the Kyrgyz-Uzbek state borders and activation of governmental groups of the two countries.
The two sides expressed mutual interest in deepening cooperation in all directions, and stressed the need to hold regular meetings of Joint Intergovernmental Commission on Bilateral Cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan in the near future.
Ministers Kazakbayev and Kamilov agreed to work on preparation of Work Plan on solution of urgent tasks of bilateral cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan with taking measures on its further practical realization.
