STATE HEADS HOLD EXPANDED TALKS

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ In Poland wit the state visit, the President Ts.Elbegdorj held Monday expanded talks with Poland's President after their individual meeting. The leader of Poland Mr Bronislaw Komorowski said the Mongolia-Poland relations have been nice, and that the countries have opportunity to forward these ties. “Developmental ways of our countries are similar in political and economic terms, and we can study each other's experience and lessons, and there are many spheres to cooperate in," he said. Poland is the sixth economy within the European Union, "so our bilateral cooperation will give impetus to a development of Mongolia,” Mr Komorowski said and expressed satisfaction with the state visit of the Mongolian President. In response, the leader of Mongolia said he is happy to visit Poland. The countries have traditional good relations, and Poland is one of the reliable partners of Mongolia in the European Union (EU), "and Mongolia can be a reliable partner of Poland in Asia", he said. “Our countries' people share common values such as human rights, freedom, justice governance and open policy,” Mr Elbegdorj said. He expressed thanks to his Polish counterpart for the warm welcome and invited him to Mongolia. The State Heads shared views on ways of developing the Mongolia-Poland cooperation in a new era such as augmenting the trade turnover, to collaborate in the education and traditional medicine sectors, to intensify the cooperation in construction, urban development, infrastructure, mining and other sectors. After the expanded talks, the Presidents participated in a ceremony of signing cooperation documents. A programme on cooperation in higher education sector has been established between Mongolia's Ministry of Education and Science and Poland's Ministry of Science and Higher Education. It has been signed by A.Ganbaatar, the Mongolian Ambassador, and by Barbara Kudrycka, the Minister of Science and Higher Education. The State Secretary of the Defense Ministry Brigadier-General Z.Boldbaatar and the Polish Vice Minister of Defense Mr Robert Kupiecki signed an intergovernmental agreement on the defense cooperation. The sides also established an intergovernmental agreement on the economic cooperation, a memorandum on the regional cooperation, and a cooperation agreement between the Academies of Sciences.
