State Department: Cooperation with Azerbaijan important for U.S.

Azerbaijan, Baku, Oct.15 / Trend, E. Mehdiyev / United States attaches great importance to the development of cooperation with Azerbaijan, U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Eric Rubin said at a meeting with Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov in Baku on Monday, Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry's website reported. Rubin appreciated Azerbaijan's contribution as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council in ensuring peace and security in the world. At the meeting Mammadyarov expressed satisfaction with the level of cooperation between the two countries and stressed great potential for its development. Mammadyarov also stressed the necessity for the withdrawal of Armenian troops from Azerbaijan's occupied territories, expressing regret over Yerevan's destructive position.
