SPEAKER RECEIVES PRESIDENT OF ASSOCIATION OF MEDICAL DOCTORS OF ASIA

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ On September 4, Speaker of the Parliament M.Enkhbold met with Shigeru Suganami, President of the Association of Medical Doctors of Asia (AMDA).
Speaker M.Enkhbold said, “Mongolia-Japan cooperation is developing in every sector and Mongolia considers Japan as its third neighbor and dependable partner. Mongolian people appreciate Japan’s assistance, investment, as well as the continuous support during the democratic revolution of Mongolia. Bilateral cooperation in health sector has great significance in relations between the two countries. I would like to express gratitude to the AMDA for implementing a number of programs and conducting multilateral activities such as protecting children’s eye, making diagnosis as well as training Mongolian doctors and enhancing their profession.”
Furthermore, he requested Mr. Shigeru Suganami to focus on specialization of Mongolian doctors and provision of advanced equipment and technology as well as an opportunity to learn from health care system and doctors of Japan.
Mr. Shigeru Suganami thanked the Speaker for the welcome, and expressed his deepest gratitude to Mongolia for giving generous support to disaster victims of the 2011 East Japan tsunami.
He also said, “During that difficult time, only two countries including Mongolia helped us, running public donation campaigns. We are always grateful for the kindness of Mongolian people and I am happy to express this appreciation on behalf on Japanese people. Major part of my visit purpose was to convey this gratitude.”
“Our association has been operating for 8 years for examining children’s eyesight as well as preventing and treating eye disease of Mongolian children. Eye disease can be treated in case of early stage diagnosis. Thus, we focus on conducting regular eye examination for children and training doctors” he added, requesting the Speaker to allocate the fund for the regular eye check-ups to the State Budget.
In turn, Speaker M.Enkhbold said he will focus on the matter.
