SPEAKER MEETS OSCE PA PRESIDENT

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The Speaker of the State Great Khural Z.Enkhbold is glad that Mongolia became 57th Participating-State of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE). He said it Wednesday at a meeting with Mr Riccardo Migliori, the President of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly. The visit of the OSCE PA President is the very first visit since Mongolia acceded to the OSCE, he underlined. In response, Mr Migliori expressed satisfaction with his visit, and said Mongolia's joining the OSCE Participating-State membership is important and effective action for the OSCE. He invited Mongolian MPs to the OSCE forum which will run this June in Istanbul, Turkey. Thanks to becoming the OSCE Participating-State, Mongolia is able now to strengthen its multi-pillar foreign policy, to cooperate with its counterparts in the security issues, to exchange information and experience, to hold bilateral talks, and to participate in regular sessions of the OSCE PA, the Speaker said. Mr Enkhbold said the Mongolia-OSCE inter-parliamentary group at the State Great Khural has been set up, spoke about the parliamentary election system, and stressed that a protection of the security through political and diplomatic cooperation is the prioriy concept of Mongolian foreign policy.
