Some 116 people killed in Syria

Azerbaijan, Baku, Oct.27 /Trend, R.Hafizoglu / At least 116 people were killed in clashes between the Free Syrian Army and government forces over the past 24 hours in the country's different cities, "Al Jazeera" TV channel reported on Saturday. Earlier Joint Arab League-United Nations Special Representative for Syria, Lakhdar Brahimi stated that the Syrian authorities agreed to cease fire in the country during Eid al-Adha (Feast of the Sacrifice). Syrian Foreign Ministry said that Damascus is considering a proposal of the UN and the Arab League on ceasefire during Eid al-Adha and will give a definitive answer on Thursday, Oct.25. According to UN, the total number of victims of the conflict in Syria is nearing 30,000. More than 230,000 have become refugees with around three million in need of humanitarian assistance.
