Bishkek, Oct. 7, 2020. /Kabar/. OSCE is closely monitoring the situation in Kyrgyzstan after the Oct. 4 parliamentary elections, according to a statement tweeted by the organization's Twitter account. “We emphasize the need for dialogue across political spectrum, to ensure stability and avoid further violence in the country”. The OSCE has membership of 57 states from Vancouver to Vladivostok, including Kyrgyzstan, and each year the chairmanship rotates from one country to another; this year Albania holds the presidency. The protest action against the results of the parliamentary elections has begun Monday on the central square of Bishkek at about 12 a.m. local time. The participants of the action - the leaders of the losing parties demanded to annul the voting results of the parliamentary elections. The protest action resulted in clashes between security officers and protesters. The police used tear gas, flash grenades, rubber bullets and a water cannon to disperse the protesters. The Central Election Commission of Kyrgyzstan declared invalid the voting results in the parliamentary elections, which took place on Oct. 4, 2020.
