A sergeant major dies, a civilian officer wounded in attack

MARDIN (A.A) - November 21, 2011 - A sergeant major died while a civilian officer was wounded in an armed attack in Nusaybin town of the southeastern province of Mardin, governor said on Monday. Mardin Governor Turhan Ayvaz said that unidentified assailants opened fire on a vehicle in Nusaybin, killing a sergeant major and injuring a civilian officer. "Sergeant Oktay Aydogan died and civilian officer Rifat Un was wounded. Un was taken under treatment in Nusaybin State Hospital," Ayvaz told AA correspondent. Ayvaz also said operations had been launched to capture the assailants.
