Sectarian Conflict, Biggest Challenge Of Muslim World: WFPIST Head

Tehran, Dec 24, IRNA – Sectarian conflict is the biggest challenge of the Muslim world, Ayatollah Mohsen Araki, Secretary General of the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought (WFPIST) said here on Sunday. He made the remarks in a ceremony held to celebrate the introduction of new Head of the Research Center in the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought Mohammad Hossein Mokhtari. 'Enemies of Islam are using all their capacities, including both their soft and hard skills, to create rift among Muslims; Muslim Ummah can for sure deter enemy plots with proximity of Islamic schools of thought and having sympathy with each other.' Ayatollah Araki noted that the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei have always stressed the use of 'Diplomacy of Islamic unity' as a basic strategy for deterring the enemy plots. It should be noted that colonial powers have been following their seditious policies to divide the Islamic governments into smaller, weaker and eventually aggressive nations by following the strategy of 'Divide and Rule'. 'Diplomacy of Islamic unity' means to make the best use of all opportunities and potentialities to find a unified Islamic nation. This diplomacy derives its principles from the holy Quran and lifestyle of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) to the point that the principles for relations with foreign non-Muslim governments are inspired by this pattern. Islamic fraternity, mutual cooperation among Muslims, avoiding desecration of sanctity of other denominations and spreading interfaith dialogue as well as foiling plots against Muslim unity are some offers by Islamic scholars to achieve unity among Muslim Ummah. Spreading the knowledge of nations from each other, paving the way for mulch-dimensional cooperation between nations, knowing the common enemies of Muslim nations and also confronting ex-communicative symbols were also among other principles stressed by Islamic scholars for achieving unity./end
