The Secretary General Of The Council Of Ministers Discusses With The EU Ambassador A Number Of Common Interests

BAGHDAD, IRAQ (NINA) - Secretary General of the Council of Ministers, Mahdi Al-Alaq and the European Union Ambassador Ramon Blecua discussed a number of common issues that are in their interest. Al-Alaq said in a statement to the Secretariat of the Council of Ministers that "the concern of the Iraqi government at the present time, along with other important files is the success of the reconstruction conference to be held in Kuwait and aspires to active participation by friendly countries in support of Iraq's position seriously." He praised "the role of the European Union in supporting the stability of Iraq, and welcomed any proposals come from the European Union to support the file of the Iraq reconstruction conference to be held mid-February in Kuwait." For his part, the Ambassador expressed his happiness with the victories achieved by the Iraqi forces against terrorist gangs. He stressed "the importance of standing with Iraq in its just case by supporting the file of investment and restoring stability and construction of the areas affected by the terrorist operations through active participation of the competent companies in the field of investment and construction." / End
