Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ A high school in Rumbek city, Lakes State of South Sudan, has been named after Elbegdorj Tsakhia, the President and Commander-in-Chief of Mongolia's Armed Forces while he was staying in this country to meet our peacekeepers. It has been announced in an official statement by Mr Chol Tong Mayai, the Governor of Lakes State. "Mongolia is one of the few countries who managed to make the democratic revolution peacefully, and Mr Elbegdorj is one of the outstanding leaders of this revolution and is also the first state head who visited here his country's peacekeepers, and we have decided to name the school as such as a token of the friendly relations between Mongolia and the South Sudan." he said. Having noted that Mongolia has the great history and is rich in military tactics traditions, the Governor asked the Mongolian troops to teach sports, tactics and Mongolian history and culture lessons at this school. In response, Mr Elbegdorj expressed a gratitude to the South Sudan for giving the school his name and emphasized that this is the locals' positive evaluation of Mongolia's peacekeeping operations and is also an optimistic start of the bilateral cooperation and friendship.
