Sadyr Zhaparov expected to attend CSTO meeting of heads of state in Dushanbe

Bishkek, Sept. 14, 2021 . / Kabar / . Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov will attend a meeting of the Collective Security Council (CSC) of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) in Dushanbe.
The CSTO press service reported that the meeting will be held on Sept. 16.
The event will be attended by Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan, Presidents of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov, Russia Vladimir Putin and Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon. CSTO Secretary General Stanislav Zas will also participate in the meeting.
The CST members will discuss current problems of international and regional security and the main results of the Collective Security Treaty Organization's activities during the intersessional period. One of the most important issues will be the situation in Afghanistan and its impact on the security of CSTO member states.
The CSTO meeting is expected to adopt a declaration of the Collective Security Council and also sign a number of documents relating to peacekeeping, ensuring the activities of CSTO troops (Collective Forces) and equipping the CSTO Collective Rapid Reaction Force with modern weapons, military and special equipment and special means, and consider the CSTO budget for 2022.
A joint meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers, the Council of Defense Ministers and the Committee of Secretaries of Security Councils will be held on Sept. 15, during which the military-political situation in CSTO regions and the agenda of the upcoming session of the Collective Security Council will be discussed.
