Russian and Tajik presidents to discuss military and energy cooperation

Azerbaijan, Baku, Oct. 4 / Trend E. Kosolapova/ Russian President Vladimir Putin within his visit to Tajikistan on October 4-5 will discuss the cooperation issues in the military and energy sectors with his Tajik counterpart Emomali Rahmon, RIA Novosti reported with the reference to Russian President's assistant Yury Ushakov. "Within the visit a number of important documents, including the military is expected to be signed," Ushakov told reporters. Among the bilateral documents prepared for signing there are agreements on cooperation in military, energy, migration issues and combating drug trafficking. Ushakov said that the agenda of the negotiations includes the issues of cooperation in political, military, economic and cultural fields, the prospects of cooperation within CIS and regional multilateral organization. Moreover, the parties will discuss international issues, including the situation in Afghanistan. Ushakov added that Russia and Tajikistan are cooperating actively within the UN, CIS, CSTO, SCO, OSCE, demonstrating the common approaches to the major issues of our time and willingness to develop integration associations in Eurasia jointly.
