Prime Minister of Mongolia meets with Japanese officials
Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. On July 25, Prime Minister of Mongolia L.Oyun-Erdene, during his visit to Japan, held bilateral meetings with Toshihiro Nikai, Secretary-General of Japan’s ruling Liberal Democratic Party, Motoo Hayashi, Chairman of Japan-Mongolia Parliamentary Friendship League and league member Kobayashi to discuss about Mongolia-Japan bilateral ties and cooperation.
Thanking for the Japan-Mongolia Parliamentary Friendship League members in the Japanese parliament for giving particular attention and support for expanding the bilateral relations, Mongolia’s Prime Minister expressed his willingness to further widen the cooperation in trade, economy, investment, public, culture and tourism areas on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between Mongolia and Japan, which will be marked in 2022.
The meetings also touched on measures and actions designed to strengthen the connection between the members of the friendship groups in the parliaments of the two nations.
At the meeting, Mongolia’s Premier highlighted that there are opportunities available to develop Mongolia-Japan businesses partnership and bring Japan’s investment, technology and know-hows to Mongolia with a view to build a satellite city along the New Ulaanbaatar International airport, establish economic, information technology and tourism regions, and introduce brown coal-to-hydrogen technologies in Mongolia.
Then he sought Japan’s private sector engagement in Mongolia’s projects for agricultural development, manufacturing for livestock sector exports, highway surrounding Ulaanbaatar city for traffic congestion reduction and Bogdkhan railway, etc. The importance of education cooperation, especially in information technology and human resources training, was emphasized at the meetings.
Toshihiro Nikai, Secretary-General of Japan’s ruling Liberal Democratic Party, noted his readiness to enrich the bilateral partnership with contents on the basis of solid foundation of the relationship between the two countries. The Japanese side received with gratitude Mongolia’s proposal to celebrate the next year’s jubilee of diplomatic ties.
The Mongolian Prime Minister brought forward a proposal to organize exchange activities for the best 50 youths representing the two countries’ politics, business, civil service and cultural fields next year, commemorating the 50th anniversary and the proposal was supported by the Japanese side.
