President to pay official visit to Japan
Astana, June 18, 2008, Khabar - At a weekly media briefing in the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Astana, it was announced that the President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, is scheduled to pay an official visit to Japan.
As part of his business trip, the head of state is planning to attend meetings involving Japan's
senior authorities and to take part in negotiations regarding the expansion of
political, trade and economic and cultural cooperation between the two states.
As a result of the talks, the sides are expected to sign a number of new agreements
including those in the economic arena. Tokyo is also preparing for the forth-coming
visit by Kazakhstan's president as Japan expects it to give a more powerful boost to
the development of cooperation between the two states.
