PRESIDENT MEETS "CRYSTAL CUP" LAUREATES

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The State Head Ts.Elbegdorj received Tuesday laureates of the "Crystal Cup", the biggest poetry event of Mongolia, on occasion of its 30th anniversary. The President said the festival always attracts a big audience, and already became a bridge between poetry lovers and poets. He added he had issued a decree on creating a festival of books, "and I am glad for active participation of novelists, poets and publishing houses in the book festival.” The invited poets and novelists expressed their opinions, for example, a poet Kh.Chilaajav mentioned about the 84th anniversary of the Confederation of Mongolian Novelists and emphasized that the Crystal Cup festival has played an important role in a development of spiritual freedom of people throughout the two political systems. He said it is important to restore an experience of training the novelists in foreign countries especially in Europe and China. Another poet B.Ichinkhorloo highlighted an importance of the Mongolian language in protecting the country's borders. Others worried that a young generation has poor knowledge of the native language. “Nowadays children are closely associated with modern high tech, so why not to use it in teaching the Mongolian language in the most interesting way,” the President suggested. This measure can be taken through the Ministry of Culture, Sport and Tourism, he added. Present at the meeting were famous poets D.Uriankhai, D.Tsoodol, Sh.Badarch, T.Galsan, D.Torbat, G.Monkhtsetseg, B.Ichinkhorloo, S.Galsansukh, Sh.Lhamnorjmaa, Kh.Chilaajav, J.Bayarjargal, Ts.Khulan, Kh.Erdenebaatar and Ts.Bavuudorj.
