Poll: Election Brings Happiness But Politicians Present Sadness
BANGKOK, Dec 27 (TNA) -- The March 24 election made people happy but political problems kept them sad, an opinion survey on political impressions by Super Poll has found.
Super Poll director Noppadon Kannika said the survey on 1,220 people on Dec 20-26 showed that casting votes in the election made 40.9% of the respondents happy and 32.5% were pleased to have an elected government.
Regarding government policies, 61.8% of the respondents were satisfied with government welfare cards, 53.4% with cash giveaways, and 49.3% with a discount on cooking gas.
For the ministers who solved grassroots problems, 21.8% picked Energy Minister Sontirat Sontijirawong, 21.2% Finance Minister Uttama Savanayana, 20.1% Natural Resources and Environment Minister Varawut Silpa-archa, 18.4% Public Health Minister Anutin Charvirakul, and 14.4% Commerce Minister Jurin Laksanawisit.
Asked about their worst politics-related suffering, 46.7% mentioned their economic problems, 28.9% bad politicians, and 23.2% the electoral losses of their favorite political parties.
For their most boring political issues, 63.3% referred to fights for political power and 35.5% to politicians’ vested interest..
Mr Noppadol said the opinion survey showed that present political situations were not critical as people were benefiting from many government policies. (TNA)
